Monthly Feature for May 2017
Petra Kraft only recently began training with me, but her progress has been so quick that she merits this month's feature. As a Barre instructor and triathlete, Petra of course was already very fit when she came to me in mid-March with a few simple goals including improved running performance, increased strength and some aesthetic improvements. In our sessions we've worked on running technique and speed work, upper-body weight training, core strength particularly rotating and stabilizing, and some injury prevention. While we only meet once per week for half an hour, Petra uses what she learns to add in little workouts on her own. As a consequence she has improved in all areas.
Aside from the general improvements mentioned above, Petra had never been able to do a pull-up and wanted to accomplish the feat perhaps even more than her other goals. In our last session she did several and you can see the satisfaction on her face! I also encourage everyone to take note of the t-shirt she was wearing. The message is clear and the advice is sound. Petra is not a robot set only to run, swim and do pull-ups. She is a mother of two and works each day with her husband on the family horse walking business. She chooses to do instead of wish.
